What the fee covers

Card processing, which is most of it, and the ACH payout to the organization. We do not take a cut of the gift itself, we do not add an optional tip to your total, and there is no charge to a nonprofit for being listed.

NatureDonate is funded by a small number of foundation grants and by donors who give to our own operating fund. There is more about how we are paid for on About us.

When the organization gets it

Grants go out on the 5th and the 20th. Organizations scoring under 3.0 on accountability settle as a netted batch and are paid on the second cycle rather than the first, which is a fraud control and not a judgement about the work. Your card is charged when the batch your gift is in closes, and the receipt is emailed that morning.

Refunds

Before the batch closes, remove the gift from your cart and nothing is charged. After it closes, write to help@naturedonate.org within 60 days and we will refund it out of the following cycle. We do not claw money back from an organization that has already been paid; that comes out of our own reserve.
