Terms of use

1. Who you are contracting with
NatureDonate is operated by NatureDonate Giving Fund, a North Carolina nonprofit corporation exempt under section 501(c)(3), EIN 83-1207744. Using the site means you accept these terms.
2. Donations are to the Fund
A donation made here is a contribution to the Fund, granted on to the organization you choose on the schedule described under Where your money goes. The Fund retains the legal control over the grant that the tax code requires of it. In practice we grant to the organization you named; in the rare case that we cannot — the organization has dissolved, lost its exemption, or refused the grant — we will contact you and either refund the gift or, with your agreement, redirect it.
3. What a listing is
Listings combine information we compile (registration status, financial figures taken from filed documents, the accountability score) with a description written by the organization itself. A listing is not advice about whether to give. Scores are our opinion, formed from the documents described under How we vet organizations.
4. Your account
Keep your login to yourself and tell us if you lose control of it. You are responsible for gifts made from your account. We may suspend an account we believe is being used for card testing or other fraud, and we report what we are required to report.
5. Refunds and errors
Refund terms are under Where your money goes and form part of these terms. If a display error, a duplicate charge or a processing fault means you were charged an amount you did not intend, tell us and we will correct it; we do not treat an obvious mistake as a binding gift.
6. Liability, and the rest
The site is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you gave through the site in the twelve months before it arose. These terms are governed by North Carolina law. We may change them; material changes are posted here with a new effective date and emailed to account holders. Questions: help@naturedonate.org.
