What we hold
Your name, email, the city and state on your account, and the record of what you have given and to whom. Card numbers are held by our processor, not by us; we see the brand, the last four digits and the expiry.
What the organization sees
The remittance file that goes out with a grant carries your name, your city and state, and the amount, because organizations have to acknowledge their donors and many are required to record them. It does not carry your email or your card details. If you would rather give anonymously, tell us before the batch closes and the line goes out as “an anonymous donor” with the amount.
What we never do
We do not sell donor lists, rent them, trade them with other platforms, or hand them to an organization you did not give to. This is the thing people in this sector do that we do not do, and it is worth saying plainly.
Cookies and analytics
A session cookie so you stay signed in, and a first-party count of which cause pages get read. No advertising pixels and no cross-site trackers, which is also why there is no consent banner on this site.
Getting a copy, or getting deleted
Write to help@naturedonate.org and we will send everything we hold on you, or delete it. The exception is the giving record itself: donation and grant records are kept for seven years because charity and tax law requires it, and we cannot delete those on request.
